Prem has been an integral part of the HCL Group for over 3 decades since he first joined them as a Management Trainee. .
He is the Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of HCL Infosystems Ltd. and the Director and Chief Mentor of HCL TalentCare Pvt. Ltd., a new initiative in HCL in the Talent space. He has a vast experience in HCL and outside that spans Healthcare, FMCG and Consulting space.
Prior to HCL, he was with Apollo Hospitals Group, as the Group CEO. Working closely with the Board, he was actively involved with the transformation agenda across Strategic Go to Market initiatives, Customer Experience, Strategic Partnerships and Globalization. .
Before joining Apollo Hospitals Group, Prem was the Senior Corporate Officer and President for HCL Technologies, leading Financial Services, Healthcare verticals along with strategic global leadership of customer proposition innovation, alliances and partnerships, as well as, expansion. He was one of the key business leaders for the Group, associated for over 30 years in various capacities from early 80’s across HCL Limited, HCL Frontline, Deutsche Software and HCL Technologies. He was also involved in a successful entrepreneurship venture that pioneered the global use of “PDA based CRM” in FMCG and Pharmaceuticals sectors.
Customer centricity and business excellence has been an area of passion for Prem. He has been instrumental in forging Global Partnerships that have resulted in creating value across borders.
Prem’s track record cuts across leading customer engagements and working with global companies, leading P&L and operations, as well as, leading innovation and new initiatives to build competitive edge in the business. He brings rich global exposure across various sectors with IT being core, Financial Services, Insurance, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG and Healthcare.
In all of the above experiences, he has been a keen observer and talent mentor. A people person to the core, his doctoral research has been on talent development. It is this passion that got him actively involved with the World Economic Forum, where he was part of the Global Council on Talent Mobility and Diversity. .
He is a member of CII National Committee on Healthcare and helps contribute in shaping the agenda for the Healthcare sector. He is also a member of CII National Committee on Marketing. He was a member of CEOs Mission to the United States that coincided with the annual meeting of the U.S. – India Strategic Dialogue. He is a much sought after speaker in Industry circles and is on the Consultant panel of some global leaders.
He is a Charter Member and member of the Governing Council of TiE Chennai, involved with their various activities. He was one of the mentors of the TyE (TiE Young Entrepreneurs) Team which won “TiE 2013 Global Business Plan Competition” representing TiE Chennai. He has also been independently mentoring young entrepreneurs . A sports enthusiast, he has been associated with Cricket in various capacities and unconnected to sports he keenly follows politics. .

J V Ramamurthy began his career as an aeronautical engineer with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. at the Avionics Design Bureau. On deputation he has enjoyed stints with INAS Integration Organization, MOD and later SAGEM-Cergy Pontoise, France on Flight Test Integration Rigs for DARIN, Jaguar (Display Attack Ranging Enterial Navigation) system.
He joined HCL Infosystems as Regional Customer Engineering Support Manager in 1988 and went on to head the company’s support services. In all his roles at HCL, with his keen insight and farsighted vision, he has re-engineered and redefined the business organization to optimally utilize its core strengths.
J V Ramamurthy holds an engineering degree in Electronics & Communications, from Guindy Engineering College, and a Master’s degree in Applied Electronics from the Madras Institute of Technology, both in Chennai. With over 26 years of experience in various functions, Vivek is presently the Chief Human Resources Officer of the company. Vivek joined HCL Infosystems in 1986 as a trainee engineer. Over the years, Vivek has been an integral part of the growth story of HCL Infosystems. He is credited with innovative HR initiatives that have made HCL among the best companies to work for, year after year.
Vivek gained intricate knowledge of the business as he held various positions including Area Manager and Regional Manager out of Bangalore in System Support and Sales functions. From 1995 to 2001, Vivek was a part of the successful Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG) of the company that tracked and hunted down new business opportunities. Parallely Vivek was also involved in HR roles and functions for his excellent acumen for managing employees and their needs. Vivek was instrumental in successfully setting up the training and development centre in Hyderabad in 1995 within a very short deadline. His appointment as the Chief HRO was a natural progression when he took over the function in 2002.
Vivek initiated various innovative HR practices such as hiring a complete batch of non IT executives to bring in a fresh perspective and impetus to the business sales team. Anand’s association with the IT industry began in 1983 with DCM Data Products and thereafter with various leading organizations like NIIT Technologies, CMS and Ferranti among others. He has also had entrepreneurial stints with NextGen Communications (now an RPG Company).
He has been associated with HCL Enterprise for a large part of his career, with more than 13 years at HCL Infosystems and 4 years at HCL Technologies. At HCL Infosystems, he led various geographies and key strategic initiatives, one among many being the SAP entry into the domestic market. At HCL Technologies, he managed large global alliances like Microsoft, EMC and IBM along with the applications business for India.
