Saturday, 10 February 2007 At 7.00 p.m. Bhakti Tarang in classical Kathak by Hari and Chethana , Natyalakshana, Bangalore
Dancers Hari and Cheth and began their training in Kathak under Kumari Bharati Vittal and later trained under Smt. Kumudini Lakhia and Smt. Vaibhavi Joshipura. Both Hari and Chethana have been dancing together, sharing their artistic sensibilities and have carved a distinctive niche for themselves in the Kathak dance scene.
Their dance embodies a fine blend of classical rigour and emotional intensity. As members of Natyalashana Institute of Choreography & Creative Dance, Bangalore, established by well-known dancer Usha Venkateswaran, Hari and Chethana have distinguished them selves and have performed extensively in India and abroad.

Sarod Recital by Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta
Celebrated musician Buddadev Dasgupta received his training in sarod under the maestro Pandit Radhika mohan Maitra of the Senia gharana. Buddhadev Dasgupta has also researched on the tech niques of sarod playing. His research work during his tenure at the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata, dealt with an analysis of gayak is of various exponents and treatment of ragas.
Buddhadev Dasgupta has performed widely in prestigious music conferences and festivals in India and abroad. Recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademy award, Allauddin Award 2005 amongst many other honours, Pt. Buddhadev Dasgupta is committed to the cause of Indian music.

Carnatic Music Vocal recital by Sudh Raghuraman
Born in a family of distinguished musicians, Sudha Raghuraman had her training in Carnatic music from her grandfather Shri O.V. Subramanyam , the highly acclaimed doyen of the Tanjavur ‘bani’. Her training was further enriched by her uncles, well k n own Carnatic vocalists O.S. Thiagarajan and Shri O.S. Arun.
Gifted with a rich, sonorous voice, Sudha’s music is characterized by her strict adherence to sruti and laya. Her forte lies in her effortless delineation of rare and com plicated ragas. Recipient of numerous honours, Sudha has performed at several prestigious music festivals and platforms, both in India and abroad.

Mohiniattam recital by Mandakini Trivedi
Mohiniattam exponent Mandakini Trivedi initially trained under Dr. Kanak Rele. Subsequently she had the privilege of training under gurus Sm t. Kalyanikuttiamma, Smt. Satyabhama and Smt. Kalam andalamLeelamma. Her style is a blend of all the inputs and influences that she carries. Mandakini’s work has also been influenced by her association with Swami Shri Harish Madhurkar. Her work shops, performances, choreography & writings bear the
unmistable mark of the teachings of her master.
Mandakini Trivedi conducts Dance Awareness Programmes highlighting the aesthetic spiritual aspects of Indian dance traditions through Sabrang, an arts education organization that she runs in Mumbai.
