Infiniti Global Line Servers now certified by industry leaders
New Delhi, February 24, 2003: In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country,
HCL Infosystems Ltd., India's premier information enabling and integration company,
has joined hands with Eurologic, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and QLogic to launch
a Certified Configuration Program on Intel®-based servers. Through this program,
HCL Infosystems will deliver certified configurations, including server storage,
network infrastructure and software for mission critical applications, to Indian
enterprises. The Infiniti Global Line brand of servers from HCL Infosystems will

has propelled Infiniti to a world-class league. We are proud to partner work with
global IT leaders for the Certified Configuration Program which will give us an
opportunity to once again set benchmarks in the industry by bringing the most
efficient IT solutions to the end user.

Mr. George
Paul, Associate VP-Mktg, HCL Infosystems Ltd. &
Mr. Jeff Richardson, GM, Intel's
Enterprise Platform's and Services Division
Through the Certified Configuration Program, HCL Infosystems will offer a one-stop-shop
for complete solutions, thereby eliminating the need for customers to interact
with multiple software and hardware vendors. Other key benefits to customers include
a tested and validated solution from world leaders; optimized performance for
business applications; standardized replication at multiple sites; and a ready-to-deploy
solution that will save significant time for HCL's customers.
Elaborating on HCL's Certified Configuration Program, Mr. Jeff Richardson, General Manager
of Intel's Enterprise Platform's and Services Division, said, "We are proud
to bring world class technology to our customers, and to work with industry leaders
to certify their solutions on our Intel platform. HCL's strong network and direct
presence in cities spread across India, combined with its established sales, support
and training infrastructure should play a key role in the success of this program."
The solutions being launched immediately through the Certified Configuration Program
include high availability solutions on Microsoft* Windows Advanced Server with
choices of 2-way and 4-way servers, JBOD/Intelligent Storage and Hub/Switch, enabling
end users to make investments depending on the criticality of application for
their business. Another solution is based on Oracle9i Real Application Clusters
with Red Hat Linux Advanced Server*.
"Oracle and Red Hat have worked together to create a core set of enhancements in the areas
of performance, reliability, clustering, and manageability to enable Linux to
support enterprise class deployments," said Sukhdeep Singh, director of Channels
and Alliances, Oracle India. "In addition, Oracle provides enterprise class
technical support on Red Hat Linux Advanced Server. With Intel, this can run on
low cost hardware with Oracle9i Real Application Clusters. Along with HCL we bring
this 'unbreakable' configuration to Indian customers."
Eurologic
Systems has played a key part in enabling the program, as the supplier of the
external storage that make up the solution building blocks from HCL. Eurologic
has over 15 years experience in the storage market and HCL has the advantage of
being able to utilize this expertise and solutions knowledge to deliver targeted
externals solutions to the
Indian IT customer.
"We are seeing
the demand for networked storage solutions grow as customers take advantage of
the enhanced scalability, flexibility and reliability that these configurations
offer over traditional Direct Attached Storage. Eurologic continues to ensure
that our technologies are interoperable with those of other vendors, and certified
on the leading platforms, to make the deployment of network solutions simpler."
Said Mike Stolz, VP of Sale and Marketing, Eurologic Systems. "The process
of getting these to market requires working with companies of the caliber of HCL
that not only have the customer base and market knowledge, but also have the support
infrastructure and expertise to be a successful and effective solutions provider
in this growing market."
HCL has been working closely with the global industry leaders that are part of the
Certified Configuration Program. In partnership with Microsoft the company recently
offered a multilingual proofing tool that supports nine Indian languages, with
its Infiniti range of desktops, to the Government bodies, Financial Institutes
and Public sector undertakings in India. Together, Intel and HCL have set up a
Solutions Centre at HCL's office in Noida to showcase solution capabilities of
HCL and validate new solution stacks on Intel architecture. These include high
availability solutions, payment gateway, multilingual messaging and unified messaging
solution among others.
